Making Mini Books

It all started watching YouTube videos late at night. Now here I am with hundred of mini books Inserts and a ton of ideas to pursue.

So how do I make the miniature books? At first I started like everyone probably thinks… cutting out the pages, gluing them together and holding them with a clip while the glue dries. I would make the outside cover a long page and then fold it over all the pages. Next I would add different cardstock designs on the books and eventually I moved to scanning the covers of real books like Game of Thrones!

Folding the longer page over the other pages made it look bulky (still had to add the covers) and gluing all the pages together was not exciting. I wanted to open the book or see it open a little bit at least like a real book.

That is when I decided to try and make some sort of tool or what is the word… something that could hold the books in place, keep pages straight and pinched together. All while allowing me to put glue on one side and attach the spine.

I did it! I made this tool. It does take a “technique” to get the books to come out straight but it works great obviously if I can sell them at this volume. At first I made the tool from popsicle sticks but then I upgraded to Arcrylic using my cutting machine. My next upgrade will be a 3D modul…🤞❤ With the 3D modul, my goal is to make the tool more hands off by reducing the “technique” it takes to get them perfect.

I want to make this tool availble to everyone eventually. Anyone could make miniature books at home with a bit more ease and decorate as they wish. You at home would have the tool, pages, spines and glue. NO CLIPS 😊😁😎

I have created this tool and it is now available on my etsy. Create your own miniature books. This tool provides a mini book tutorial for you to create miniature books at home in ease.

The kit includes the tool, pages and spines. No glue unfortunately that might not ship well. I did provide tweezers to help get you started.

Tool is in 1:12 scale and 1:6 scale. I can make any size upon request now that the design is complete!
